E-Sports & Music Festival

About the project

The Objective: Create a premium social VR experience thats suitable for all ages, demographics, and occasions.

The Result: We generated a huge amount of interest & engagement, with people lining up for almost 2 hours to play our experience.

The Zotac E-Sports & Music Festival was coming up, and Zotac needed a way to supercharge their brand equity. They wanted an experience that would allow them to demonstrate their technological thought leadership.

Hence, the goal of the project, “Sherwood Forest”, was two-fold. First, create a premium, social experience that’s suitable for all ages & demographics. Second, have an experience that can be used in the future for birthday parties, team building events, & pop-ups.

We brought on a team of veteran artists and game developers, and built many new features such as an in-depth character and clothing selection. We also improved upon the leader-board and operational software we had built earlier for Dragonfire.

Unfortunately, all of the features we added along with improvements on existing software lead to many things breaking in the last moment. Fortunately, we already knew this would happen, and prepared a 2-month buffer for quality assurance and to fix critical issues. As a result, we were able to complete the project 2 weeks ahead of schedule.

The amount of interest & engagement we created was huge, with people lining up for almost 2 hours to play the experience.

Technologies Used: Unity, MySQL, Optitrack, MSI Backpack PCs, ReactJS, .Net
